Who Are We?

North Cotswold Canoe Club are a kayak sports club based in the Cotswolds. We work with members from age 10+ in teaching the skills required to be able to paddle and control a kayak in moving water. The Club's main focus is training, so we work towards the British Canoeing 3* syllabus which then leads to the coaching awards.

How Did it Start?

BillIt all started in 1984 when Bill Hill became qualified as an instructor to give Scouts in Moreton-in-Marsh some new activities. NCCC became a fully fledged BCU affiliated club in 1995, allowing us to open to the public.

We can safely say over 1000 people have paddled under the North Cotswold Canoe Club banner. The Club has led to many careers in outward bounds and activity centers, and a couple of high-level coaches. Over 100 children and adults have joined us Surf-kayaking at Woolacombe, with many coming back year on year.

What Can/Cannot Offer

We offer a 1:1 coaching experience starting in pool sessions in October/November. Get in touch in September to register your interest. If you already have a high level of experince then we may be able to start you out on the river or lake following a discussion with one of the team.

Unfortunately, we are a charitable organisation and due to risk and liability we are unable to offer boat hire, stag/hen do parties, or specific activities during the week. All our coaches are volunteers and have normal day to day jobs and so are only able to get out on the water on Sundays
